Home Inventory for Android · Last updated October 30, 2026

Home Inventory ("the app") is developed by Arul. This policy explains what data the app handles, where it is stored, and the choices you have.

Summary

Data you enter

You may add item names, descriptions, quantities, locations, photos, notes, purchase details, tags, reminders, and custom properties. This data is stored in a database and in files private to the app on your device. It is used only to provide the app's features.

Google Sign-In

If you choose to sign in, the app uses Google Sign-In and Firebase Authentication, a Google service. Google shares your name, email address, profile picture, and Google account ID with the app. These are used only to identify your account in the app and to connect to Google Sheets and Google Drive on your behalf. Firebase Authentication keeps a sign-in record for your account under Google's Privacy Policy.

Google Sheets and Google Drive sync

If you turn on sync, the app asks for permission to access your Google account:

This data travels directly between your device and Google's servers. It is not sent to the developer. You can revoke access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Item photos in Google Drive

When you export to Google Sheets, the app uploads each item photo to a folder named "Home Inventory Images" in your Google Drive. So that the photos can be loaded on other devices, the app sets each photo to "Anyone with the link can view" and writes the photo links into your spreadsheet. Anyone who has a photo link, including anyone you share the spreadsheet with, can view that photo without signing in. The photos are not listed or searchable publicly. To stop sharing, delete the photos or the folder in Google Drive, or change their sharing settings. If you do not want photos uploaded, do not use Export to Sheets; use ZIP export instead, which keeps everything on your device.

Google API Services User Data Policy

Home Inventory's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is used only to provide the sync features you turn on. It is not used for advertising, not sold, not transferred to third parties, and not read by humans except with your permission, for security purposes, or where the law requires it.

Permissions

What the app does not do

Keeping and deleting your data

Data on your device stays until you delete it in the app or uninstall the app. Data you synced stays in your Google Drive until you delete it there. To remove the app's access to your Google account, revoke it at the link above. To have your Firebase sign-in record deleted, email the address below.

Security

Data on your device is protected by Android's app sandbox and your device lock. Communication with Google uses encrypted HTTPS connections.

Children

The app is meant for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
